The challenge

Unemployment is a big problem in Tanzania, especially in the Kisarawe District where almost 8 out of 10 youth don’t have a formal job.

With our initiative we are expecting to help solve the unemployment and school dropout problems among youth in the Kisarawe District.

The project

Our project targets youth who dropped out of school and/or are jobless aged 18 - 35 years old from a few villages of the Kisarawe District, by providing different soft skills training. The initiative will be run in collaboration with the Folk Development College and the Local Government. The last will provide loans to youth to help them run their economic activities.

We intend to train groups of 10 to 20 youth depending on the availability of locations.

Through the trainings, we will introduce youth to different economic activities and will also support them technically and financially by providing machinery and all materials required for their ventures.

We will monitor their activities until they are able to stand up for themselves to operate or run economic activities.
